AAE-conigli, Chapter della House Rabbit Society
Oggi è un giorno memorabile per la AAE-Conigli, perché è diventata parte della House Rabbit Society (HRS). 

La HRS è un’associazione americana nata negli anni ’80 per salvare i conigli abbandonati ed educare il pubblico sulla loro corretta gestione. Negli anni la HRS è rapidamente cresciuta, fino a contare ora più di 9.000 soci e a moltiplicare le sedi locali (Chapter) in tutti gli Stati Uniti.

La sua attività di divulgazione e educazione attraverso il suo sito web (www.rabbit.org) è così apprezzata e autorevole che rappresenta un punto di riferimento anche per i veterinari che si occupano di conigli, oltre che per i proprietari, in tutto il mondo, specialmente per quanto riguarda i problemi di comportamento e la gestione domestica.

La AAE-conigli, fin dalla sua nascita, ha preso a modello la HRS nella sua filosofia (il coniglio deve fare parte integrante della famiglia ed essere trattato come tale, non come un passatempo da relegare in una gabbia quando non se ne ha più voglia), nella sua attività di educazione del pubblico e di recupero ed adozione dei conigli abbandonati.

E’ quindi un grandissimo riconoscimento del lavoro fatto finora e un incoraggiamento per quanto verrà svolto in futuro essere diventati Chapter della HRS (il secondo Chapter al di fuori degli USA, dopo il Canada, e il primo in Europa!). E’ la realizzazione di un sogno, un grande motivo di orgoglio, ma soprattutto è un incentivo ad operarsi ancora di più e ancora meglio a favore dei conigli.
Questo grandissimo obiettivo non sarebbe potuto essere raggiunto senza il lavoro dei tanti volontari e volontarie della AAE che, con il loro lavoro generoso ed entusiasta, hanno permesso tutto ciò.

Today it’s a memorable day for the AAE-Rabbits since it becomes part of the House Rabbit Society (HRS). HRS is an American association established in the 80’s to save abandoned rabbits and educate rabbit owners on proper handling and care. During this time HRS has grown to over 9,000 members with locations all over the United States.

The training and education activity through its website (www.rabbit.org) is highly regarded and has so much respect that veterinarians, trainers and rabbit owners from around the  around the world refer to the website, especially regarding behavior problems and domestic management.

Since its birth, AAE-Rabbits has taken HRS as a model in its philosophy (a rabbit must be an integrated member of the family and must be accordingly treated as a member, not as a toy to keep in a cage when no longer desired), in its people’s education activity and in recuperation and adoption of abandoned rabbits.
It is consequently a very high award of work carried out so far and a strong encouragement for what more will come in the future, to have become the official local chapter of HRS and the first one outside of North America.

This is a dream come true, a reason of great proud, but on the top of all an incentive to operate more and more in favour of rabbits.
This great objective could not have been achieved without the generous and enthusiastic work of many AAE volunteers who made this possible.
